2nd Week of School

I'm hoping that by now, we are getting into the swing of things. So far, I am seeing great habits forming. There are just a couple students that find it still hard to not talk while I am talking and to take class serious. :)

All classes have prepped their Interactive Notebook and have been utilizing them in class.

Art Classes are currently working on their Portfolio projects. Art 1's are doing a FREE FORM drawing on theirs and Draw 2 are doing a IN THE STYLE OF piece of artwork on theirs.

Floral Design have gone over Chapter 1 and have made reference cards that included samples of Ribbon and Wire. They will be working with Floral Tape and learning about the different tools and lab safety this week. I am hoping to start preparing for Homecoming mums next week.

I hope everyone is having a great time and are excited for what the year will bring. I know I am!

Happy New School Year!!!!

It's really hard to realize that the 2016-2017 School year is just a short few days away. Where did Summer go? Mine went POOF- be gone! No really... but I am getting ready to greet each and every one of you on Monday. I hope you are ready for me to be your teacher.

This year marks my 13th year of teaching. My 10th year teaching at Ellison High School. I've taught Art of all levels for the past 12 years and this year embarks a new challenge- FLORAL DESIGN! I would be lying if I said I was ready, and I want you all do know I am human- but I hope to be ready. The class itself will be amazing and my students, YOU, will be amazing. I will be traveling twice a day to opposite ends of our massive campus, so if you see me along the way, feel free to help me carry stuff to my destination. No really... lol

I have great plans for this school year with trying to increase my VASE participant numbers and revamping our Art Club and who knows what else.

Week of Jan 26, 2016

All classes are continuing with their projects from last week.

Art 3 Charcoal projects will be graded this week. I have had all intentions in starting this process, however, they are rather messy and I hadn't had that opportunity to get them out and grade. I hope to knock these out in the morning.  Thank you for being patient.

Grade Status

My goal today was to grade all Art 1 assignments, there are 3 of them. I got 3rd period finished, however, as I was starting 4th period all chaos let loose and I hadn't been able to return to grading those. Soooooooo I will hopefully get it all updated tomorrow. I just wanted to let you know.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I am totally baffled that this school year is already halfway over. I foresee 2016 as being a great year.
This start of the 3rd 9 weeks is really quite smooth. We started out the week making sure we had all that we needed. Portfolios were given some attention and updates were made to classes and seating charts. Tuesday we just went right in with continuing with what we had started before the holiday break.
Art 1's - finishing up their Masterpiece Color Schemed paintings. Told about their next project and encouraging them to go ahead and get images ready now.
Art 2's - Practicing Facial features and remided again to get their their image ready for their next project.
Art 3's- continuing their Charcoal Portraits or Realistic Eyes
