GRADES!!!!

I am going to be updating the Gradebook starting today. This is the home stretch for the end of the 1st 9 weeks. EVERYTHING is due by end of the day Thursday, in order for me to grade/regrade/enter everything into the system. Students have been reminded of this and it's on the screen today too.
shown on the board/screen today
I will be going over grades with students as I see the need and will have students who have a failing grade as of Thursday to sign a 'Failure Sheet'. This simply states that they knew from day one what they needed to do in order to pass this class.
I started contacting parents of students with failing grades on October 2, 2015. I will make another contact this week also.

LETS GET IT TOGETHER PEOPLE!!!

END OF THE 1ST 9 WEEKS

Wow.... Really where has the time gone? This school year is flying by!
I just wanted to share this reminder with you all. Since Friday is the last day of this 9 weeks.

They are also encouraged to get a selfie of themselves printed and ready to use for their next project. If they don't have a way to print out their image, they are encouraged to e-mail it to me at angela.caddell@killeenisd.org and put their name and selfie in the subject line.

Week of Sept 14-18

This week students in all of my classes have been working on Contour Line Projects.

Art 1- learning how to draw upside down (using the right side of their brain). Enlarging a Picasso drawing onto drawing paper. They were to then fill it in completely with color/pattern/designs. Due yesterday, however I gave today as a little catch-up day to allow more time to finish.

Art 2- Students are taking their knowledge of Contour Lines and an image of choice to enlarge onto a large piece of Drawing paper. They can use the Upside down concept if they'd like or grid it if they don't feel confident on drawing it free-hand. They are to then go over their cleaned up pencil lines with Sharpie/pen and then give value done with contour lines.

Art 3- Students are also taking their knowledge of Contour lines and capture Contour and Movement. There were to try to take images, select 5-7 frames and then draw them onto Watercolor paper. After they have drawn onto the Watercolor paper, they are to go over it with Sharpie/Pen then apply a pail/wash of watercolor.

Lessons along with examples are in the slide show link below.

Watercolor Project

ART ONE students have been creating a Design Graph for their Watercolor Project. As you see in the picture, they were to create a 3 inch grid on Manilla paper. They were to draw 3 seperate ideas across the top and then 3 along the side. I suggested Lines then Shapes. After they have done this, they are to combine their ideas to create designs. They are to then add more elements to the squares.

After they have done their Graph (Formative Grade), they are to select one of their squares and apply that design onto Watercolor Paper, for their project (Summative grade).

I will be doing a Watercolor Demonstration on different techniques they could apply to their project, on Wednesday. There is no Color criteria, just to be creative and have fun.
